- Westlaw research, Deep Research, litigation analysis, and authoritative legal content on CoCounsel Legal.
Pricing
As of July 25, 2026, Thomson Reuters’ official comparison page for in-house legal teams lists CoCounsel Essentials starting at US$340.85 per month, Practical Law Dynamic Tool Set with CoCounsel Essentials starting at US$882.30 per month, and CoCounsel Legal starting at US$1,694.90 per month. These are published starting prices, not universal per-user rates; the final price can vary with the selected package and organisation.
CoCounsel Essentials is the drafting-and-analysis tier. It includes the shared AI, library, and workspace-integration foundation plus tools to draft and modify clauses, run contract playbooks, search internal knowledge, check documents for errors, extract or update contract terms, compare and summarise documents, prepare for depositions, build timelines, and convert text or image PDFs to Word.
Practical Law Dynamic Tool Set with CoCounsel Essentials includes those drafting and analysis capabilities, then adds Practical Law workflows, search and summarisation, dynamic search and comparison tools, and Practical Law’s expert legal know-how. It does not include the Westlaw research capabilities reserved for the complete plan.
CoCounsel Legal combines the Essentials and Practical Law capabilities with Deep Research, Litigation Document Analyzer, additional Westlaw AI capabilities, authoritative Westlaw content, exclusive editorial enhancements, and citation tools such as Add Links, Cite List, and KeyCite flags. Thomson Reuters directs larger or differently configured organisations to request a demo or tailored quote.
Product footprint
CoCounsel is sold as a professional legal workflow and content platform rather than as access to a named general-purpose model. The important commercial distinctions are the legal content collections, research depth, drafting and analysis tools, integrations, and organisation-specific package configuration.
Why select CoCounsel
CoCounsel is a strong fit when legal work needs to be grounded in Thomson Reuters content and supported by drafting, document, and research workflows in one platform. Essentials targets drafting and analysis, the Practical Law package adds expert guidance, and CoCounsel Legal provides the fullest research and content bundle.
