Chroma is an open-source search and embedding database offered as a serverless managed cloud for vector, full-text and metadata search.
Plans
As of July 31, 2026, Starter costs US$0 per month plus usage and includes US$5 in free credits, ten databases, ten team members and community Slack support. Team costs US$250 per month plus usage, includes US$100 of non-rollover monthly credits, 100 databases, 30 team members, Slack support, SOC 2 coverage and volume discounts. Enterprise uses custom pricing and adds unlimited databases and members, dedicated support, single-tenant or bring-your-own-cloud clusters and SLAs.
Usage rates
Across self-service plans, Chroma charges US$2.50 per GiB written, US$0.33 per GiB-month stored, US$0.0075 per TiB queried and US$0.09 per GiB returned over the network. Most purchased credits do not expire, but the Team plan's included US$100 does not roll over. Plan changes are prorated and service pauses when customer-set or Chroma-set usage limits are reached.
