What is Cohere
Cohere provides enterprise language, embedding, reranking, search and workplace-agent systems. Its current commercial routes include the North workplace platform, Compass search, pay-as-you-go production APIs and dedicated Model Vault deployments.
Product and API pricing
As of July 30, 2026, North and Compass use custom enterprise pricing. New accounts receive a free, rate-limited Trial API key that cannot be used commercially. Approved Production API keys are pay as you go and billed monthly or when outstanding charges reach US$250.
Cohere publicly prices Aya Expanse 8B and 32B at US$0.50 per million input tokens and US$1.50 per million output tokens. Legacy-model prices remain published for existing customers, including Command R August 2024 at US$2.50 input and US$10 output per million tokens.
Model Vault pricing
Dedicated Model Vault pricing is per managed instance. Embed 4 Small costs US$4 per hour or US$2,500 per month. Embed 4 Medium, Rerank 3.5 Medium, Rerank 4 Fast Medium and Rerank 4 Pro Medium each cost US$5 per hour or US$3,250 monthly. Rerank 4 Pro Large costs US$10 per hour or US$6,500 monthly. Longer commitments and custom enterprise deployment are available.
