What is Haystack
Haystack is deepset's open-source framework for building production-ready retrieval and agent applications. deepset also sells a managed AI Platform for developing and deploying these systems.
Open-source and Studio pricing
As of July 31, 2026, the Haystack framework is open source with no software licence price. deepset AI Platform Studio costs US$0 and includes one workspace, one user, 100 pipeline hours, up to 50 files of 10MB each, two development pipelines, cloud deployment, community support and 14 days of history and logs.
Enterprise
Enterprise uses custom pricing and adds unlimited workspaces, users, files and development pipelines, plus highly available production pipelines. It supports cloud or custom deployment, dedicated account and solution support, private Slack support, SSO and role-based access. deepset states that enterprise support pricing is flexible and based on company size.
The open-source framework does not include third-party model, hosting or infrastructure charges; those depend on the components and deployment chosen by the user.
