What is Intercom Fin

Fin is Intercom’s customer-facing AI agent for service, sales, and ecommerce. It can answer questions, follow procedures, qualify prospects, take action in connected systems, and hand work to human agents across chat, email, phone, and other supported channels.

Core offerings

  • Fin AI Agent included with Intercom’s helpdesk plans or available for an existing helpdesk.
  • Customer support, sales qualification, ecommerce guidance, procedures, and external-system actions.
  • Messenger, inbox, ticketing, help centre, workflows, reporting, and collaboration by plan.
  • Optional Copilot, Pro analytics, and Proactive Support Plus add-ons.

Pricing

As of July 24, 2026, Fin and Intercom offer Essential at US$39 per full seat per month or US$29 on annual billing, Advanced at US$99 or US$85 annually, and Expert at US$139 or US$132 annually. All three include Fin, with successful Fin outcomes charged from US$0.99 each.

Essential includes Messenger, shared inbox, ticketing, pre-built reports, and a public help centre. Advanced adds multiple team inboxes, the Workflows automation builder, round-robin assignment, a private and multilingual help centre, and 20 included Lite seats. Expert adds SSO and identity management, HIPAA support, SLAs, multibrand Messenger and help centres, and 50 Lite seats.

Fin can also run on an existing supported helpdesk for US$0.99 per outcome, with minimum commitments but no seat, setup, integration, or platform fee. Intercom charges at most one outcome per conversation when Fin successfully resolves a request, completes a procedure handoff, or performs another defined outcome; Fin for phone is sales-priced.

Optional add-ons include Copilot at US$29 per agent per month for unlimited use, Pro from US$99 per month including analysis of 1,000 conversations, and Proactive Support Plus from US$99 per month including 500 messages. Email campaigns, SMS, WhatsApp, and phone usage are billed separately.

Model footprint

Intercom sells Fin as a managed customer agent powered by its AI Engine rather than as direct access to a named model catalogue. The commercial comparison centres on successful outcomes, helpdesk seats, channels, workflows, and governance.

Why select Intercom Fin

Fin is strongest for organisations that want an AI agent tightly integrated with a support platform or deployed over an existing helpdesk. The outcome model can align spend with completed work, but buyers should model seat, outcome, channel, and add-on charges together.
