What is Salesforce Agentforce

Salesforce Agentforce is not a generic chatbot with a CRM connector bolted on afterwards. It is Salesforce’s AI agent platform for building, deploying, and governing autonomous and assistive agents directly inside the Salesforce operating model.

Its history matters because the product is the next step in Salesforce’s move from Einstein features toward a wider agent platform. The company now frames Agentforce as a digital labour layer on top of its broader platform, with Builder, Prompt Builder, Voice, observability, data grounding, and action execution across service, sales, field service, and industry-specific workflows.

For buyers, the practical advantage is context. If your customer records, service flows, approvals, knowledge, and workflow automations already live in Salesforce, Agentforce can reason and act where that data already exists instead of asking you to move everything into a separate AI app.

Core offerings

  • Customer-facing and employee-facing agents embedded in Salesforce workflows.
  • Agentforce Builder, Prompt Builder, Agent Script, and Agentforce Studio for configuration and orchestration.
  • Grounding through Salesforce data, metadata, Data 360, and external systems.
  • Observability, trust, governance, and low-code workflow integration inside the Salesforce platform.
  • Voice, partner extensions, and packaging across sales, service, field service, and industry products.

Pricing

As of August 2, 2026, Salesforce’s public Agentforce pricing page shows a free Salesforce Foundations starting point, Flex Credits at US$500 per 100,000 credits, Conversations at US$2 per conversation, and an Agentforce User License at US$5 per user per month that still requires Flex Credits for metered usage. Selected Sales, Service, Field Service, and Industries editions are also marketed from US$550 per user per month and include Agentforce add-on access with 2.5 million Flex Credits per organisation per year.

Salesforce’s own pricing documentation explains that one standard Agentforce action consumes 20 Flex Credits, which works out to roughly US$0.10 per action at the public Flex Credit list price. Agentforce Voice actions consume 30 credits. This means Agentforce is commercially attractive when the value of each automation, case action, update, or assistant step is higher than the underlying credit burn.

Current commercial structure

Agentforce is sold more like a platform and usage model than a single seat-only AI product. This is the commercial picture buyers should understand first.

Why select Salesforce Agentforce

Agentforce is strongest when your company already runs meaningful customer, service, or operational work in Salesforce and you want AI to execute actions against those systems instead of simply talking about them. Its value is less about an abstract model race and more about governed automation inside live business workflows.

It is particularly compelling for teams that want one platform for employee agents, customer-facing agents, voice, workflow actions, and visibility into usage through Digital Wallet and platform-native governance. If your AI roadmap already passes through Salesforce admins, data model owners, and service operations leaders, Agentforce fits naturally into that buying motion.
