What is Sourcegraph Cody

Cody is Sourcegraph’s code-aware AI assistant for chat, completion, editing, and analysis across large codebases. It now exists only as an enterprise capability within Sourcegraph rather than as the former self-serve Free or Pro product.

Pricing

As of July 21, 2026, Sourcegraph no longer offers Cody Free or Cody Pro: new sign-ups stopped on June 25, 2025, and those plans were discontinued on July 23, 2025. Cody Enterprise remains supported, but Sourcegraph does not publish a separate standalone Cody seat price.

The current Sourcegraph Enterprise platform starts at US$16,000; the public page does not state a billing period alongside that displayed starting amount. The plan includes credits for AI features and scales with team size. It also includes code and symbol search, Deep Search, Batch Changes, Insights, Monitoring, MCP, APIs and CLI access, single-tenant cloud or self-hosting, enterprise administration, pooled organisation-wide credits, no monthly credit expiry, renewal rollover, and 24×5 support.

Model footprint

Cody can use Sourcegraph Model Provider for managed access to models from providers including Anthropic and OpenAI, or an enterprise can configure its own provider. Sourcegraph’s public docs do not expose a current fixed model-by-model Cody allowance, so buyers need a sales quote for credits and deployment scope.

Why select Sourcegraph Cody

Cody is now relevant mainly to enterprises already evaluating Sourcegraph for large-codebase understanding and governance. Individuals seeking a self-serve Cody plan should not expect the discontinued Free or Pro tiers to be available.
