What is Udio

Udio is an AI music-creation platform for generating songs, extending and remixing tracks, editing music and lyrics, and guiding new work with audio, style, or voice references. It combines a free creation allowance with two paid credit tiers.

Pricing

As of July 21, 2026, Udio’s official help centre documents Free, Standard, and Pro access. Free accounts receive 10 daily credits plus a separate 100-credit monthly limit, and can create no more than three roughly two-minute songs per day. Standard is US$10 per month with up to 2,400 credits per month; Udio’s trial documentation also gives US$96 plus tax as its US example for an annual Standard subscription. Pro is US$30 per month with up to 6,000 monthly credits and five simultaneous sets of songs, or ten songs.

Paid subscribers can use audio uploads, the Sessions timeline editor, advanced Voice controls, and music or lyric editing. Pro receives selected early-access features, including Styles inside Sessions. Subscription credits do not roll over, while separately purchased à-la-carte credits do not expire. Udio also states that audio, video, and stem downloads are currently disabled following its Universal Music Group partnership, so buyers should confirm that limitation before subscribing.

Product footprint

Udio’s commercial limits are driven by credits and generation length. A pair of 32-second songs costs two credits, while a pair of roughly 130-second songs costs four credits. It is a creator product rather than a public model API, although Udio’s changelog identifies Allegro v1.5 as a current generation model version.

Why select Udio

Udio is worth shortlisting when iterative song creation, reference-guided generation, and timeline editing matter more than API access. The temporary download restriction is a material workflow constraint and should be checked before committing.
