What is Vellum
Vellum's current product is a persistent personal AI assistant with memory, voice, web search, skills, plugins, scheduled work and managed or self-hosted deployment. This replaces the older developer-platform positioning associated with the same domain.
Plans
As of August 1, 2026, Vellum's official July 24 release lists Free at US$0, Mighty at US$30 per month, Super at US$100 per month and Ultra at US$200 per month. A Custom option lets buyers tailor CPU, memory, storage or token capacity.
The four current plans bundle assistant compute, persistent storage and usage credits into one subscription. Higher tiers are designed for progressively larger machines, storage and managed-model usage. Vellum's release notes supersede the older Base and Pro structure; because the public release does not enumerate every tier's exact resource allowance, buyers should confirm those live values in Billing.
Self-hosting and usage
Vellum Assistant is open source and can be self-hosted without the managed platform fee, but the user supplies infrastructure and model credentials. Managed-plan credits cover routed LLM inference, search, image generation and paid third-party services.
