Workday Illuminate and Sana bring AI agents, enterprise search and workflow automation into Workday's HR and finance platform, with access to eligible AI capabilities measured through Workday Flex Credits.
Flex Credits pricing model
As of August 3, 2026, Workday uses a consumption-based Flex Credits model for eligible AI agents and platform innovations. Every Workday subscription receives an initial annual allotment, and customers can purchase additional annual credit capacity. Credits are fungible across eligible agents, allowing usage to move between products as needs change.
Workday does not publish a universal numeric price per credit or a standard public subscription amount; the subscription and any additional credit purchase are set through the customer's Workday agreement. Customers using Flex Credits can test eligible agents and Sana in non-production without consuming production credits, while production use draws down the annual balance.
Sana and agent capabilities
Sana for Workday and Sana Self-Service Agent are available to Workday customers through Flex Credits without a separate product licence or paywall. Workday says Sana supports more than 300 skills across areas such as pay, time and absence, while its broader Illuminate portfolio includes agents for HR, finance and industry workflows.
