What is Zilliz
Zilliz Cloud is a managed vector database built on Milvus, with free, serverless, dedicated, on-demand and bring-your-own-cloud deployment options.
Free and serverless pricing
As of July 31, 2026, one Free cluster is available without payment information and includes 5GB of storage, 2.5 million virtual compute units per month and up to five collections. Serverless clusters charge US$4 per million vCUs for read and write operations. Zilliz's published examples estimate writing one million 768-dimensional vectors at about US$3 and one million searches against that dataset at about US$60, before storage and transfer.
Storage is charged separately by region and deployment. Official documentation uses US$0.025 per GB-month for an AWS US East example. Serverless has no idle compute charge when no operations occur, although retained storage, backup, data transfer and optional audit-log charges can continue.
Production plans
Standard SaaS is intended for prototypes and non-critical workloads. Enterprise adds autoscaling, replicas, observability integrations, SSO, private endpoints and a 99.95% SLA. Business Critical and BYOC use custom commercial terms and add regulated-workload controls, cross-region backup, customer-managed encryption and up to a 99.99% SLA for eligible multi-replica deployments. Dedicated and on-demand compute prices vary by region and compute-unit configuration.
